Owner/Head Trainer
Jennifer Kallam
JK TRAINING was founded on the principles that have shaped Jen's career and are the core values for her business.

Grounded in Horsemanship

Jen learned to ride and began showing as a junior while growing up in Alaska. Her passion and competitive drive resulted in many successes in the show ring. She earned her Silver Medal in dressage and currently competes in the Grand Prix jumpers and upper level hunters.
Jen moved to England to work and train with former British Olympians Jane Bartle-Wilson and Christopher Bartle. She left the UK in 2005 with her British Horse Society Assistant Instructor (BHSAI) Certification and a wide breadth of knowledge and experience. Jen utilizes the European teaching techniques she acquired to develop her students' fundamental riding and horsemanship skills while providing a safe, quality experience for both horse and rider. In addition, she is a United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA)-certified trainer.

Inspired by Relationships

Jen's ultimate goal is to teach her students to become independent equestrians who instill confidence in their horses, creating successful horse/rider partnerships. She has been especially successful at matching riders with appropriate mounts of suitable ability and temperament. She also helps her clients enjoy horses at any level— whether that be learning to ride for the first time, staying safe and happy on the trail, excelling in dressage or going to the highest level jumping. The JK program is designed to hold close Jen's strong belief that the horse and rider relationship is paramount.

Belief in our System
Jen's riders and horses are skillfully trained in the major English riding disciplines to build the essential correct and fundamental skills. She focuses on helping clients set and achieve individual goals. Her positive, thorough style and calm, encouraging demeanor allows her students to become not only accomplished riders but also competent horsemen. She has coached students to success in the dressage, hunter, jumper and equitation arenas.

Assistant Trainer/Head of Intro Lesson Program
Trinity Johnston
Trinity fell in love with horses at a very young age and started riding when she was eight years old. Her passion for horses and the equine industry only grew with time and with more experience.
Trinity volunteered at a local lesson barn where she was an assistant for kids riding lessons as well as horse camps over the summers. There she learned the importance of equine education and sharing her knowledge with the next generation of riders. Trinity also competed IEA through her later years of high school. With this experience she learned how to horse show and how to ride many different horses. Now, Trinity has a green American Saddlebred named, Junior, that she plans to make her next jumper.
Trinity went on to get her Associates in Animal Science from Aims Community College, where she learned about livestock and Ag business. Once she graduated she became a small animal Veterinary Technician. But her heart still lied with in the equine industry, so Trinity went on to get her Certification in Equine Sports Massage Therapy. With this certification she was able to combine her love for horses as well as her love for animal care/upkeep. Shortly after gaining this certification she started at JK Training and has loved everything that she has learned and is still learning about the equine world.
Outside of horses Trinity enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as her dog Gizmo.
